I am a Navy Reserve Chaplain currently serving as the Force Chaplain for Military Sealift Command (MSC). MSC's mission is to support our nation, and the Dept. of Defense in particular, by delivering supplies and fuel and conducting specialized missions across the world's oceans. MSC falls under the direction of U.S. Transportation Command and U.S. Fleet Forces Command, and has more than 170 ships and more than 10,000 people - approximately 6,000 of which are Navy Sailors or Civilian Mariners. I am responsible for facilitating and coordinating ministry to them all, across 24 time zones, through the efforts of 5 other Navy Chaplains.

I have been on active duty since January 2009, working at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington D.C. at Military Sealift Command Headquarters, but traveling extensively to carry out the duties assigned to me. I will be the Force Chaplain for this command until at least November of 2012, although much of that time will not be on active duty, as I am now.
